On Friday, November 26th, 2010, The Johnson City Police Department arrested Andrew M. Odell, 31, of 1331 Weaver Branch Rd, Piney Flats, TN at 8:20 am for driving after being restricted as a habitual motor vehicle offender.  Odell’s arrest came as a result of being stopped for a traffic violation.  Odell was taken to the Washington County Detention Center and placed under a $7,000.00 bond with an arraignment set for General Sessions Court on Monday, November 29th, 2007 at 9:00 am.

On 11/26/10, at approximately 10:00 a.m, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Bradley Davidson, W/M, DOB 10/18/90, 734 Midfield Ave, Kingsport, and James Lee, B/M, DOB 12/24/90, 1426 Willow St, Kingsport, charging them with Manufacture/Delivery/Sell of a Controlled Substance and possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia. The arrest stems from a traffic stop on Boones Creek Road, during which officers located approximately 118 grams of marijuana during a search of the vehicle. Davidson and Lee are each being held in the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of $11,000 bonds. They are scheduled for arraignment on 11/29/10 in Washington County General Sessions Court.

On Thursday¸ November 25, 2010 officer(s) of the Johnson City Police Department arrested William E Overbey, 40, of 241 W Main St., Johnson City, TN. 37604.  The arrest is a result of an investigation into the burglary of Good Samaritan Ministries, 100 N. Roan St. Mr. Overbey is charged with one count each of Burglary and Simple Possession of Narcotics. Mr. Overbey was transported to the Washington County Detention Center for processing. Mr. Overbey is being held on an $11,000 Bond with an arraignment set in Washington County General Sessions Court on November 29 2010 at 1330hrs.

     On November 25, 2010 at 11:15 pm officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Bartolo D. Hernandez, D.O.B. 06/14/1977, after  he refused to stop for officers on a traffic stop. Officer observed Mr. Hernandez’s vehicle travelling in the turn lane on Sunset Dr. Officers attempted to stop his vehicle at the intersection of Sunset and Knob Creek. The vehicle refused to stop. Officers eventually were able to find and stop the vehicle at the Shell station on W. Market St. This is when officers found Bartolo Hernandez to be the driver. Mr. Hernandez appeared to be intoxicated. Mr. Hernandez was placed under arrest for evading arrest, D.U.I., and reckless driving. Hernandez was transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held on a $13,000.00 bond. Bartolo Hernandez is scheduled to appear in Sessions Court on November 30, 2010.

      During the last month and a half, the Johnson City Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit initiated an investigation into several local car dealers being victims of having sets of tires and rims being stolen off of cars being stored on their lots. During this time frame, sets of tires and rims were stolen from the following businesses, Phil Bachman Toyota of 3200 Bristol Highway, Johnson City: Tri-Cities Nissan of 3602 Bristol Highway, Johnson City, Bill Gatton  Acura-Mazda-Saturn of the Mountain  Empire of 2909 N. Roan Street, Johnson City and twice from Friendship Hyundai of 3408 N. Roan Street, Johnson City.

     

       As a result of the investigation, Benjamin L. Fair of 315 Berkley Court, Jonesborough, Tennessee was developed as a suspect and subsequently arrested and charged in connection with these thefts. Benjamin L. Fair was arrested and charged with five counts of Theft of Property over $1,000.00 and is being held in lieu of a $50,000.00 bond.

 

      On November 23, 2010, Benjamin L. Fair was charged in connection with a November 21, 2010, burglary to a residence at 1125 Hammett Road, Johnson City. An investigation into this incident revealed Benjamin L. Fair in selling a refrigerator, stove and dishwasher that had been stolen from this residence. Benjamin L. Fair was arrested, charged with one count of Burglary and one count of Theft of Property over $1,000.00 and booked into the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of a $10,000.00 bond.

On 10/15/2010, officers met with a subject who stated that someone stole one of his personal checks and cashed it in the amount of $60 at his bank. Officers began to investigate and obtained surveillance footage of a W/M, later identified as Nicholas C. Cornett (W/M, 09/22/1959) of 612 Jackson Avenue, Johnson City, Tennessee 37604, cashing the victim’s check. On 11/23/2010, officers arrested Cornett and charged him with two counts of Theft under $500 and one count of Forgery. Cornett’s arraignment hearing is set for 12/02/2010 at 9:00 a.m. in the Washington County General Sessions Court.

On Saturday, 11/20/2010, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Amy D. Jackson, w/f, DOB 05/02/1975, 656 Riverside Rd, Bluff City, TN 37618 on a warrant charging her with Aggravated Assault. The warrant and subsequent arrest is the result of an investigation in which Jackson physically assaulted a person who has an active order of protection against her on 11/18/2010 at 3211 Peoples Street in Johnson City. Jackson was transported to the WCDC where she was being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond. Jackson was scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Sessions Court on Monday, 11/22/2010.

            On Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010, at approximately 03:15 am, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested 29 year old Timothy M. Jones of 210 W. Pine St. in Johnson City and charged him with Aggravated Assault.  The arrest is the result of an investigation into the report of an assault that occurred the previous night.  He was taken to the Washington County Detention Center and will be incarcerated under a $20,000 bond while he awaits an arraignment hearing on November 23rd, 2010 at 9:00 am in Washington County General Sessions Court.

The arrest stems into an investigation of Identity Theft. Gillenwater obtained a Tennessee drivers license using her twin sister’s information. Gillenwater is currently being held on a $10.000 bond, in the Washington County Detention Center, with a hearing in Washington County Sessions Court on Nov. 22, 2010, at 9:00 A.M.
