On Saturday, 01-14-12, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Conatan Basurto-Rangel, (32) W-M, 2701 S Roan St. Apt# 119, Johnson City, TN. charging him with Aggravated Assault (Domestic). The arrest stems from an investigation into a domestic assault at the residence where officers responded on a call and spoke with the victim, who was the girlfriend. The girlfriend stated to officers that she was choked by the Basurto-Rangel after a heated argument. Basurto-Rangel fled prior to officers’ arrival but made contact with officers by phone and turned himself in. Basurto-Rangel is being held at the Washington County Detention Center on a $10,000.00 dollar bond and is scheduled to appear in Washington County General Sessions Court on Wednesday, 01-18-12, at 9:00 A.M.
