On January 9, 2013, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested two North Carolina men and a juvenile on multiple counterfeit charges. Michael Keith Herron, 46 years old, 43 N. College St., Weaverville, NC. and Adam Kirk Dillingham, 30 years old, 2 Sprousetown Rd., Weaverville, N.C. along with a juvenile male also from Weaverville, were arrested after they were found to be in possession of several counterfeit currency bills. The arrest came after the suspects attempted to pass a counterfeit bill at IHOP, 3214 Peoples St. in Johnson City, the suspect fled after the IHOP employees became suspicious. The three suspects then proceeded to McDonald's at 2101 N. Roan St. where they passed a counterfeit bill to purchase an order. The employees at McDonald's became suspicious and contacted police who arrived to find the suspects still on scene. The suspects were in possession of several counterfeit bills. While in custody Mr. Dillingham attempted to eat several counterfeit bills he had hidden in his shoe; officers were able to get the bills before Mr. Dillingham could swallow them. Mr. Herron is charged with 7 counts of Criminal Simulation and one count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. Mr. Dillingham is charged with 24 counts of Criminal Simulation and one count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor and one count of Tampering with Evidence. The juvenile is charged 11 counts of Criminal Simulation. Mr. Herron is being held in Washington Co. Detention Center on a $22,000 bond. Mr. Dillingham is being held in the Washington Co. Detention Center on an $85,000 bond. Arraignments are scheduled for Mr. Herron and Mr. Dillingham on January 9, 2013 at Washington Co. General Sessions Court at 9:00 am. The juvenile was released to his legal guardian and is scheduled to be in Johnson City Juvenile Court on January 18th, 2013 at 9 am.
